Why Yvie Oddly Should Win Drag Race S11

[SOME SPOILERS AHEAD]

If you have not been watching season 11 of Ru Paul's Drag Race Season 11 then you're truly missing out. Episode 1 brought about the elimination of a youtube favourite "Soju" being eliminated in week one and the return of Miss Vanjie. Many of the queens have quickly impressed fans (I have a soft spot of Plastique Tiara, fish and talent/comedy? legend). A rivalry quickly brewed between the loud, outgoing and hilarious Silky Nutmeg Ganache with Ru saying she is a star and the freakishly endearing yet gentle soul Yvie Oddly. Yvie Oddly became my absolute favourite and my horse to back the second we saw that coral umbrella full body pink look. Truly amazing

1) Her Aesthetic....

Yvie has the ability to not only change her silhouette in each and every challenge but at times even the entire theme of the challenge. Yvie has the uncanny ability to take a challenge and force it through her Yvie freakish filter and produce consistently stunning looks. This isn't just an ability she has on Drag Race, checking out her instagram there's no set particular look, style or even colour scheme yet the outfits are always Yvie. Her instagram is @OddlyYvie, make sure to check her work out!

2) Lovably weird

Since the moment the cast was officially announced people began comparing to Sharon Needles, legendary as Sharon is they're not the same. In episode 8 we saw Yvie attempt to reconcile with Silky after they had a bust up resulting in Yvie calling Silky talentless. Silky was deeply upset by this and after some time to herself Yvie apologies for calling her talentless but stood by her other critiques. Silky largely blew this off and ignored Yvie's attempts. Yvie also made up with Miss Vanjie after they had a dramatic argument in untucked. Vanjie took this much better and accepted her apology. Yvie seems to have no issue with speaking her mind yet knows when she has gone too far and is more than willing to apologise.

3) She won't give up

Yvie opened up about her medical condition Ehlers - Danlos syndrome. The condition makes her body produce less collagen (kinda the glue of the body) and whilst this makes her amazing at contortion due to her joints being hyper flexible it leaves her in constant pain. She previously said in episode 6 that on a good day her pain sits at around a four out of ten, sounds horrible. In episode 6 she badly sprained her ankle after doing a kick up and landing badly. She was then forced to use a cane to be able to walk properly, she worked it into her runway flawlessly doing a japanese gangster granny esque look. She refused to let this eliminate her and the next episode she's back to fighting fit. What a warrior.

Saving Money As A Student

Being a student is a financial nightmare. Whether you have credit card debt, maintenance loans, working part time or living off of family support the chances are you are broke. In this article I will break down a few of the ways that you can save money as a student and start paying off debts are saving for a deposit.  Tip #1: Paying yourself before your bills. The idea of paying yourself before bills is often touted as the best way to save money as it instantly shrinks your budget and prevents over spending. But what is paying yourself I hear you ask? Paying yourself means automatically taking a % of your money, whenever you receive it and sending it to a savings account. For most students, 10% is the most comfortable amount to automatically redirect to your savings but if you can afford more then more is better. If you cant afford 10% then try 5%, the effects of compound interest over the course of your degree will grow even that 5% to a nice chunk of change. Tip #2: Form a ...

Frugal Tips To Save You Money

Beginning a new blog series where I break down frugal living tips that accumulated can save you tens of thousands. As always, make sure to follow me on social media @DraggedO Frugal tip #1 Meal prep: Prepping meals saves you money in two major ways. Firstly, you don't waste food by it going bad in your fridge then you having to throw it away. This is quite literally throwing money in the bin and is not frugal at all. Secondly, you're not tempted to order takeout because you're too tired after a hard days work. You can also meal prep your work lunches and this will save you spending money everyday on overpriced meals.  Frugal tip #2 Cancel premium tv: "Cut the cord" is a popular term in the frugal community and is even gaining mainstream use. The cost of watching premium TV channels averages out to be $99 a month. That's $1200 over a year and $12,000 over a decade. $12,000 is getting close to a mortgage deposit on a reasonable sized house.  ...
